I was considering getting one of the cheaper sets but got these Bowflex dumbbells during the Black Friday Sale at Amazon. They are far superior to any other weights I have tried out in the stores. I have read reviews of other weights saying that the weights would stick at first and then fall out. Not a problem with these dumbbells even on the first pulls. The dial to select the weight is so easy to use and not hard to turn. They seem very sturdy to me but I would not drop them to the floor and this is mentioned as something you should not do in the manual. I also recommend getting the stand for these weights which makes things so much easier and it looks great.
